Carl Ehmann, MD is a dermatologist, retinoid expert, and seasoned executive with a distinguished track record in driving global research for both pharmaceutical and consumer products companies.
Before becoming a consultant, Carl held a range of R&D leadership positions in a 25+ year industry career. Among these, Carl served as Head of Global R&D and as a member of the board of Reckitt & Colman (before its acquisition by Benckiser NV), where he was responsible for its pharmaceutical and consumer products businesses. Before BMS, Carl was Director of Clinical Research/Dermatology at Hoffman-LaRoche, where he led clinical development of Accutane® for cystic acne as well as the preclinical and clinical development for the first approved retinoid for psoriasis.
Throughout his career, Carl has also held adjunct clinical teaching positions at a number of leading medical schools, including serving as a Clinical Associate Professor at Bowman Gray (Wake Forest University), the University of Pennsylvania, UMDNJ, and SUNY-Buffalo. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant clinical professor at NYU and the University of Minnesota. Currently, beyond his consulting role, Carl serves on a range of for profit and non-profit boards.
